Background

The client, seeking to transform their corporate lobby into a space that visually communicated brand philosophy, selected natural onyx stone as the primary surface material for its translucency and elegance.

However, traditional European lighting solutions failed to preserve the stone’s depth and visual richness under artificial lighting conditions. A solution required both technical precision and emotional sensitivity—leading to the selection of LumiSpace.

LumiSpace’s Technical Approach

LumiSpace’s lighting specialists retrieved A4-size onyx samples and conducted thorough in-house analysis in Seoul, examining light transmission properties, vein structure, and optimal color temperature.

After extensive simulation, a 2700K warm white tone was found to enhance the natural grain and internal glow of the onyx.

Using their proprietary ultra-slim 6mm light panel technology, LumiSpace engineered a stone-integrated backlighting system with optical gel bonding, ensuring flawless diffusion with no surface damage, shadows, or glare.

Result & Client Feedback

Upon activation, the test installation produced a striking result—

the stone appeared to breathe light, with dramatic visual depth and texture. The client praised the outcome, stating it surpassed expectations and offered “over 400% enhancement in material expressiveness” compared to previous mockups.

The lobby design, now a brand symbol, has since been featured in the company’s internal media and CSR reports.

Future Outlook

Following the success of this European project, LumiSpace plans to expand its presence in the high-end architectural lighting sector across Europe.
